Sufi

Festival turned to an age old Sufi tradition:

"Beyond our ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing,
there is a field. I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase 'each other'
doesn't make sense any more"

Sufism in essence is about being in a state when one feels closeness to God by restoring within themselves the primordial state of Fitra.  In 2008, Sheikha Khadija Radin performed Dervish Whirling at Sarkhej Roza. As Rumi puts it, Whirling is escaping one's existence continuously tasting the everlasting existence, in the absolute non- existence.

Sufi Music Festival:

A two-day music festival was being held in Ahmedabad in November, 2009. The festival titled 'Seena Ba Seena' (meaning, heart to heart), was organised to flag off the preparation for Ahmedabad International Arts Festival (AIAF) during the Heritage Week. The two day festival celebrated both art and heritage together.
A host of folk and gospel singers including vocalist Sonam Kalra, singer and storyteller Parvathy Baul, Bhai Baljeet Singh & Troupe and Hayat Khan Langa & Troupe are expected to perform in ethereal settings as part of a two day festival that will be held at St. Xavier's Church and Sarkhej Roza respectively.
